W  dniu 9 sierpnia 2022 roku w  Instytucie Gruźlicy i Chorób Płuc odbyło się   spotkanie  z delegacją Arabii Saudyjskiej oraz przedstawicielami Światowej Organizacji Zdrowia- WHO.

Delegacji Instytutu przewodniczył Dyrektor Profesor Stefan Wesołowski.

Na czele delegacji Arabii Saudyjskiej stał Doktor Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Dyrektor Generalny Centrum Pomocy Humanitarnej im. Króla Salmana (KSrelief ). W spotkaniu uczestniczył Ambasador Arabii Saudyjskiej w Polsce Pan Saad Saleh Alsaleh.

Światową Organizację Zdrowia reprezentowała Doktor Paloma Cuchi.

Głównym tematem spotkania był program leczenia gruźlicy wielolekoopornej opracowany przez WHO i Instytut Gruźlicy i Chorób Płuc, skierowany zarówno do uchodźców z Ukrainy jak i polskich pacjentów. KSrelief udzieliło programowi znaczącego wsparcia umożliwiającego pozyskanie leków stosowanych w gruźlicy wielolekoopornej i wprowadzenie nowych technologii pomocnych w nadzorowaniu leczenia.

Rozmowy  dotyczyły także przyszłej współpracy naukowej  pomiędzy Instytutem Gruźlicy i Chorób Płuc a instytucjami medycznymi z Arabii Saudyjskiej.


On August 9, 2022, a meeting with the Saudi Arabian delegation and representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) was held at the Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases. The delegation of the Institute was chaired by the Director, Professor Stefan Wesołowski. The Saudi delegation was headed by Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Supervisor General, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre Director (KSrelief). The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Poland, Mr. Saad Saleh Alsaleh. The World Health Organization was represented by Dr. Paloma Cuchi. The main topic of the meeting was the multi-drug resistant tuberculosis treatment program developed by the WHO and the Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases, addressed both to refugees from Ukraine and Polish patients. KSrelief has provided significant support to the program in obtaining drugs for multi-drug resistant TB and introducing new technologies to help monitor treatment. The talks also concerned the future scientific cooperation between the Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases and medical institutions from Saudi Arabia.
